Recommended AfterCare

 ● At the discretion of your artist, keep your bandage on until you’ve returned home, or up to overnight.

● Wash the area with a gentle soap such as cetaphil cleanser, DILUTED dr bronners, anti microbial dial, or unscented baby soap. Avoid bar soaps or any soaps with heavy fragrance, alcohol, or astringents. We recommend lathering soap with warm water on clean hands and gently removing any excess blood ink or plasma in small circular motions.

● Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Avoid cloth towels

● After your tattoo has been cleaned and dried, apply a small amount of unscented white lotion such as lubriderm or cetaphil. You may alternatively use a tattoo aftercare product, preferably discussed with your artist prior. Use lotion 1-2 times a day, or when your tattoo feels tight. DO NOT over moisturize, while Moisturizing will benefit your tattoo, too much can cause infection, irritation, and prolonged healing. Avoid petroleum based products, such as A+D and Aquaphor, as they sit on top of the skin instead of being absorbed, and attract dust and grime

● Continue to wash your tattoo 1-2 times a day until it is fully healed using the methods described above. Wash tattoo if it comes into contact with any other sort of contaminants such as excess sweat, dirty hands, gym equipment, pet hair etc.

● We recommend using clean, dark sheets, or sleeping on a clean towel to keep your tattoo clean and avoid ruining sheets if your tattoo has heavy color or blacks

● For the first few days after getting your tattoo, it is encouraged to wear looser clothing around the area.

● Avoid submerging your tattoo, even in clean water. Avoid coming into contact with any ocean, river, creek, stream water, and skip the hot tubs, and saunas until you are fully healed

● Once your tattoo is fully healed, maintain it by applying sunscreen or keeping it covered in the sun.

●Any signs of allergy or infection? Get in touch with your artist to trouble shoot! signs of infection: radiating streaking towards your core, pain, warm to the touch, redness

SECOND SKIN
●You may keep second skin/tagaderm/saniderm on your tattoo for 24 hours and up to 5 days! Have an ‘ink sack’ (that gross bubble of fluid that collects inside?) Thats normal! If it doesn’t bother you or leak, it will usually reabsorb by day 3
● Remove if you notice any redness, streaking, excess warmth or pain, bumps or experience any itchiness. Immediately DM your artist or dm us at @cloud95.sf for help
● Remove if Saniderm becomes compromised! That usually means that it starts to peel into the tattoo or begins leaking any fluid. A good rule of thumb is that if anything can get out, then that means bacteria can get in!
●DO not remove dry. For your comfort and best results, slightly pull back the second skin under clean, warm running water, using soap at the edges, slowly removing .If it hurts, you may be doing it too quickly! Saniderm IS waterproof but should not be heavily washed while you still want it on to avoid breaking the seal that the adhesive made!
